About the Project

LiveBetter aims to advance the goals of the EU Renovation Wave Strategy, the revised EPBD and the NEB initiative, by unlocking investments in deep renovation projects, while accelerating the current rate of deep renovations across Europe.

A Standardized Common European Digital Buildings Hub will be established, integrating:

• A high-performance, Data Space compliant structuring mechanism for quality assurance and data sharing related to the building sector
• An “arsenal” composed of 15 market-ready, AI-based services

The LiveBetter Hub will be a dynamic, adaptive digital environment, compliant with the EU BSO, facilitating secure access to high-quality data and services for:

• CERTIFICATION: Accurate, reliable, dynamic EPCs
• INSPECTION: Digital building inspections
• PERFORMANCE: DT-based performance-vs-comfort building management
• RENOVATION: Renovation planning and financing
• ACTIVATION: Flexible, DR-ready buildings

The project will leverage tools and models from 24 past and ongoing EU-funded projects. Services will address 6 unique Business Cases tested in 6 End-user Groups, covering stakeholders across the building value chain: building owners, construction companies, financial institutions, occupants, energy utilities, local authorities, and academia energy experts.

LiveBetter will promote market adoption of the Hub through innovative financing schemes, policies, and business models. Engagement and capacity building strategies will support technology roll-out, digitalisation, and professional skill development, including a Community of Practice and Building Clinics for non-tech stakeholders.

Synergies will be leveraged with major EU initiatives such as EU BSO, DEEP, Level(s) Framework, EDIH, and the Smart Energy Cluster.
